The best ways to market your music is debatable but there are definitely several things you can do to improve your chances of reaching the largest audience.

Let’s dive into 3 things you can do now to increase the odds of your music marketing success.

This list is obviously brief intentionally. In keeping with our last podcast episode, The Art of Focus, I’ve narrowed the best ways to market your music down to 3 things you need to focus on.

Best Ways To Market Your Music

There are a million ways you could market your music. I’m going to give you 3 action items to do now.

1. Master A Social Media Channel

Keeping in line with the art of focus, you need to focus on 1 social media channel at a time. Pick one and master it.

Build up a following on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook and then invite that crowd to the next channel.

Remember to master 1 channel at a time. If you want the most engaging audience start with YouTube.

2. Be Consistent With Content

If you have the bandwidth to maintain multiple channels then use this schedule:

Social Media Posting Schedule:

  • Twitter – 10 tweets per day
  • Instagram – 1-2 posts per day
  • Facebook – 1-3 posts per day
  • YouTube – 2-3 posts per week
  • SoundCloud – 1 post per week

Post on a regular basis so that people come to expect it. Make it easy for them.

This podcast is a perfect example. New episodes come out every Monday and Thursday like clockwork.

3. Don’t Give Up

Most people quit. It’s a fact. Don’t be a quitter.

Every time you think of quitting be reminded that someone else at that exact same moment is thinking the same thing. Let that other person quit and you plow ahead.

By not giving up you will leave your competition in the dust and thin out the field leaving more room for you to shine.

Remember, marketing a bad product may work but not for long. Be vigilant about refining your musical craft and creating the best music you can. Be unique and be the best you can be. Never stop working at it.
